Oliver Stockley was raised amongst the natural beauty of the UK countryside. He quickly developed a love for all things with paws and claws, and carried this into all of his creative endeavours.
Art became a formative part of his life when he was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. “I was stuck in a rut until I started drawing regularly – the more I drew, the happier I became. Art is now a fundamental part of me.”
Having moved to Toronto in 2017, he is now working full time as an artist. In his works, he shows off Canada’s most loved animals using innovative mark making and a striking black and white palette. The intricate details he uses combine elements of realism with stylised linework.
